An interview with a Veterinary Nurse, regarding the role of language skills and the stages of communication present in veterinary medicine.
· Effective communication is an effective and complete transfer and interaction of information which is complete, concise and clear to all parties involved.
· To ensure clients understand the information, basic rules of communication: completeness, conciseness and clarity, as well as the support with confirmation and documentation are needed.
· Language skills is essential to simplify and clarify certain medical terminologies that are too complicated for clients to understand.
· Show empathy to clients but do not omit facts or give falsehood by not communicating completely.
· Trust between the vet and client is the foundation for proper communication.
